  • Vans

  • Heavy equipment

Skid steers, compact tractors and other rolling equipment.

Open vs. enclosed carrier

Open carrier

Most common
  • The standard for everyday vehicles and dealer moves
  • Lower cost: more vehicles per trip
  • Exposed to weather and road dust, as on any highway drive
  • Widest availability and fastest pickup

Enclosed carrier

Classic, luxury, exotic
  • Fully protected from weather and road debris
  • Lift gates and soft straps for low-clearance cars
  • Fewer vehicles per truck, so pickup windows can be longer
  • Typically costs more than open transport
How it works

Four steps from quote to delivery

  1. 1

    Get a quote

Tell us where the vehicle is, where it is going and what it is. You get an all-in price with no hidden fees.

  2. 2

    Book and schedule pickup

Accept the quote and we assign a licensed, insured carrier and agree a pickup window that works for you.

  3. 3

Carrier picks up at your door

The driver inspects the vehicle with you and notes its condition on the inspection report before loading.

  4. 4

    Delivery at your door

Inspect the vehicle against the report, sign, and you are done. You can track the shipment from pickup to delivery.

Typical transit windows: 1-3 days for routes under 500 miles, 3-5 days up to 1,500 miles, and 5-9 days coast to coast. Windows are estimates and depend on route, season and weather.

What our customers say

Frequently asked questions

FAQ

How much does it cost to ship a car?

Price depends on distance, route, vehicle size, whether it runs, open or enclosed carrier, and the season. Most state-to-state moves fall in the range of a few hundred to a little over a thousand dollars. Your quote is all-in: the number we give you is the number you pay, with no hidden fees.

How long does it take?

Pickup is usually arranged within a few days of booking. Transit typically takes 1-3 days for routes under 500 miles, 3-5 days up to 1,500 miles and 5-9 days coast to coast. These are estimates, not guarantees; route, season and weather can move them.

Is my car insured during transport?

Yes. Every carrier we assign is licensed and carries cargo insurance that covers your vehicle while it is on the truck, and that coverage is included in your quote. Note the mileage and condition on the inspection report at pickup and delivery; that report is what any claim is based on.

Open or enclosed carrier: which should I choose?

Open carriers are the standard for everyday vehicles and cost less because they carry more cars per trip. Enclosed carriers protect the vehicle from weather and road debris and are the usual choice for classic, luxury, exotic or freshly restored cars. Tell us your preference on the quote form and we will price both if you like.

Can I ship a non-running vehicle?

Yes, as long as it rolls, steers and brakes so it can be winched onto the truck. Inoperable vehicles cost more because they take extra equipment and time to load. Let us know when you request the quote so the price and the right truck are set from the start.

Can I put items in the car?

Personal items are not covered by carrier insurance and add weight, so most carriers allow up to about 100 lb in the trunk or below the window line and nothing more. Never ship valuables, documents, firearms, or anything hazardous. Ask us before pickup if you are unsure.

Do I need to be there for pickup and delivery?

You or someone you trust (18 or older) must be present at both ends to hand over the keys, walk through the inspection and sign the bill of lading. If nobody can be there, tell us in advance and we will arrange an alternative.

How do I pay?

Nothing is due when you request a quote. Once you book, a deposit reserves your spot and the balance is paid at delivery. We will confirm the accepted payment methods with your quote.
