Required Documentation from Puerto Rico to USA

Documents Required to initialize booking (Please, take a picture with your phone or scan and E-mail it to us):
1.- Copy of title (both sides) or original authorization from financial institution, if vehicle is financed. If owner is not able to bring the unit to the port personally, an original affidavit from a PR lawyer is needed.
A. If the affidavit is made in USA it must be notarized and then sent to PR. Once in PR it must be validated or notarized in PR by a lawyer (we provide this service $35.00).
B. If the letter is done in PR it must be notarized by a lawyer (we provide this service $35.00). In both cases the authorized person must bring the original letter to the lawyer and then to the port; otherwise the vehicle can not be shipped.

2.­ Copy of the owners driver license (or ID).
3.­ Vehicle License (Registration).
4.­ Current value of the vehicle. You can use www.kbb.com as reference if you do not know the value.
5.­ Full name, phone number, and address in Puerto Rico of the person shipping the vehicle (sender), and full name, phone number, and address in USA of the person receiving the unit (consignee).
6.­ Payment to Car Freight, Inc. prior to shipping by credit or debit card (Visa, MC), or direct deposit in Banco Popular, Wells Fargo or Bank of America.

Required Documentation from Mainland to Puerto Rico

Documents Required to initialize booking (Please, take a picture with your phone or scan and E-mail it to us):
1.- Copy of title (both sides) or original authorization from financial institution, if vehicle is financed.
2.­ Copy of the owners driver license (or ID).
3.­ Vehicle License (Registration).
4.­ Provide Bill of Sale for vehicles purchased within 90 days.
5.­ Imported vehicles must pay 2.5% duty tax. Vehicles under 1 year old and meet all US bumper and safety standards are exempt from the duty tax (certificate of conformity from manufacturer is required)
6.­ Full name, phone number, and address in Puerto Rico of the person shipping the vehicle (sender), and full name, phone number, and address in USA of the person receiving the unit (consignee).
7.­ Payment to Car Freight, Inc. prior to shipping by credit or debit card (Visa, MC), or direct deposit in Banco Popular, Wells Fargo or Bank of America.

Required Documentation from/to Hawaii

Documents Required to initialize booking (Please, take a picture with your phone or scan and E-mail it to us):
1.- Copy of Original Vehicle Registration and Title - Car Freight, INC. will need copies of the original documents to you inmediately. The registration and title will be the binding document for all other documents provided. (Verifying ownership and/or Lienholder).
2.­ Creditor/Lessor notarized statement - If your vehicle is currently financed/leased, bring a notarized statement from your creditor/lessor that the creditor/lessor is aware your vehicle is being shipped, with the VIN# noted, authorizing that the vehicle can be shipped from Hawaii. The letter is valid for 30 days from the date of issuance if an expiration date is not noted. The financial institution noted on your registration must issue the letter of authorization. If your financial institution has changed its name or is not the financial institution reflected on your registration, a notarized document from the financial institution must be provided explaining the reason for the difference..
3.­ Photo ID. - In order to pick up the car, you (or anyone you designate) must furnish a Government issued photo ID (License, Military ID, State ID, Passport).
4.­ Non-Owned vehicle - If the person shipping/receiving the vehicle is other than the owner, ShipHawaii requires a notarized letter of authorization from the owner(s). If the vehicle co-owner, both registered owners must sign the consent form.
Co-Owned vehicle - If you are shipping your vehicle from Hawaii and there is co-ownership of the vehicle, both owners must be present when vehicle is delivered to ShipHawaii. If only one owner is present, a notarized letter is required from the absent co-owner authorizing the shipment.
